Big Time Drilling in ND.

39 new drilling permits have been issued this week in the north western part of North Dakota.  26 permits were issued last week.  517 new wells were drilled last year, and 553 wells were completed in 2008 with a success rate of 98%.   Huge.

So, what’s going on in North Dakota?  Read more of it Here.  and Here.

The U.S. Geological Survey called it…

The Largest Continuous Oil Accumulation It Has Ever AssessedThey’ve found one of the biggest oil deposits of all time right here in our own backyard, and there’s even speculation that there’s enough crude in the Bakken area to get the US totally out of relying on Middle Eastern oil imports.

Eh.  Go get it boys.  Drill baby Drill.

Oh, but not so fast say the politicians.   And where is the main stream media, the ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN digging into this discovery of oil independence?   Why are they not broadcasting this stuff to the average Joe, fearful of the price of gas going through the roof because of the billions of oil floating in the Gulf.  Why aren’t the politicians grabbing the microphone and telling the people “don’t worry, we’ve got the oil independence situation all wrapped up with the new finds in the Bakken/Williston North Dakota area.”

They should be telling us that we Americans can have our oil and at the same time allow the alternative energy field to develop their products for consumer use.  We’re also talking job creation as pipelines need to be built to route the oil to the refineries, and since ND has just one refinery, more need to be built to refine those billions of barrels, and then truck it out of state to the consumer.  Jobs, Jobs, Jobs.  Oil, Oil, Oil.  Independence.

Why are the politicians not delivering this message?

Not their language.  Change is what they want.  Politicians want the end of fossil fuels.

That just does not make sense, does it?  Why do they do that to us?   Environmental wackos are in charge.  This is free market stuff and our current politicians think free market capitalism can’t be trusted to deliver the goods,  but of course government (the bigger the better) can be trusted to deliver the goods.  Wind farms must be subsidized by the government (taxpayers).  Solar panels subsidized by the government (taxpayers).   Hey.  Listen up you elected idiots.  If wind farms are the thing of the future, then let them prove it . . . . . on their dime, not ours.   If solar panels are the thing for every household in the future, let them prove it viable . . . on their dime, not one cent subsidized by our stupid economically illiterate politicians.    Go back a few years when wireless telephony made it’s introduction to the market.   Was it subsidized?   Go back even further when thousands of women lost their jobs as operators when automatic routing techniques hit the telephone industry.  Was the new technology subsidized?  Were the laid off operators promised unemployment benefits to last years until . . . ?

Drill, baby Drill.

Obama is really upset about the oil spill. Well so is BP and . . .

OK, you know, this is getting to be a real bore.  Everyday, the American people get to hear what the great one (Obama) thinks about everything and anything.

Now, he’s really, really upset about the oil spill in the gulf.  As if BP is not upset.  The great one is sick and tired of the blame game.  BP is pointing the finger at the inherent risks involved in this kind of operation, and He, the chief is pointing the finger back at BP because HE don’t like the finger pointing.

"For too long, for a decade or more, there has been a cozy relationship between the oil companies and the federal agency that permits them to drill. It seems as if permits were too often issued based on little more than assurances of safety from the oil companies. That cannot and will not happen anymore."

You see Obama pointing the finger back at previous administrations.   Nope, on his watch these things are not supposed to happen, and when they do it’s the fault of the other guy.  He’s got to make sure all Americans understand this.  The mighty one could not have let this happen.  This spill will now put a damper on HIS energy plan to allow companies to explore for oil off the east coast etc.   Explore, but no drilling, that’s too dangerous.

Folks, everything in this world of ours, no matter where you live, no matter how much money you have, no matter who you work for, no matter what your genetic make up is has some danger to it.  It’s called risk.  It’s called life on planet earth.

Here in the plain state of Oklahoma, we had a few tornadoes touch down this week causing considerable damage and some lives taken.  Nashville has seen the floods of a century devastate the city.  Who do we blame for these mistakes of nature, after all nature is supposed to be gentle on us all.  Nature is supposed to treat us all fairly.  Right?  Wells are not supposed to explode.  Clouds are not supposed to get together with winds and swirl around so fast.

So now the Obama kind will see the need to shut down the evil oil companies from drilling off shore.  Too dangerous for the environment, our pristine sandy beaches, the fish and turtles, shrimp and seagulls too, not forgetting the people working on these rigs.  The government thinks it’s just too dangerous, too many risks involved.  So shut it all down.  Send BP back to London.  But we need energy to run our things.  Spend billions on windmills.  Buy the oil we got to have to build the windmills and the vehicles of the bureaucrats from overseas and have it shipped here in those huge tankers that can break apart in the Mississippi river.  Sure thing, that makes lots of sense.

Yep, you can say the feds made the first mistake by allowing BP to drill in the gulf.

November is coming and Constitutionalism may be returning big time.

Washington is infected with insects.

When you see insects eating away on a rose shrub, what do you do?  When your precious tomato plant is being devoured by insects, what do you do?

All gardeners know that a jar of insecticide must be kept handy to use against the varmints that suck the life out of your beautiful rose or tomato bush.  You’ve got to get those invaders once they start showing themselves.  They can be hand picked and stomped on.  But you won’t get them all, nor will you even see them all.  Better yet is a preventative program that puts up a shield of protection against the enemies; like a pre-mixed solution saturating the ground the plants send their roots into.  But once that’s been accomplished, a continual inspection of your roses and tomatoes for those insects that are still able to get through all of your previous techniques, is needed so that all your hard work will not be spoiled.

It’s work to bring a tomato plant to harvest.  It diligent work to tend the roses so their beauty will manifest itself.

Our congress and the federal agencies are full of insects who are sucking the life out of America and they need to be removed.   They can be hand picked and removed, but if that don’t work to revive America the Great, probably then the entire body will need to be sprayed.

It’s a common practice to spray rose bushes every two weeks, so think of congress as needing to be made insect free every two years.

If you’re against using an insecticidal spray because of purest environmental reasons, then you’d better just forget about taking a salt shaker out to the garden, picking a nice juicy ripe home grown tomato, biting into it and savoring each chew, or enjoying the splendor, the aroma and beauty of a bush full of magnificent roses.  Ride your bike to the store and buy the tasteless canned tomatoes lacking the natural nutrients of a fresh vegetable.  Get a villa or a high rise apartment, stay out of the way, stay home and leave the ground work of building America to the millions of us who are willing, able and with diligence select and elect politicians who will hold the constitution of ours in high esteem with a return to federalism.

EPA regulates house painting

WASHINGTONOklahomans hoping to have older homes remodeled or even worked on (by painters, plumbers, electricians, roofers, window installers, etc) could see projects come to a standstill or even be canceled because of a federal rule designed to protect children from lead poisoning.

That’s the warning from state homebuilders.

That’s the EPA ruling.

That’s YOUR federal government protecting and watching over you if your home was built before the stroke of midnight January 1, 1979.

Do it yourself and stuff it to the contractors, that’s OK.

If you don’t have the time to do it yourself and want to hire a professional to paint the place, to fix the plumbing, to rewire, to upgrade the windows, to repair a roof damaged by hail, then get in line and save some additional cash for the project because the price just went up.

So you wait and wait to hire one of the few contractors who will have taken the course and are now certified to paint a pre-1978 home.   Some of the other neighborhood homes were constructed after 1978 and they can get the job done by the cheaper immigrants.

Now that the government is watching over you, don’t you feel a whole lot better.

Just wondering if the next step to insure the program does indeed protect homeowners will be requiring builders supply stores to inspect the actual property deed prior to selling any products meant to improve a home.  A renegade homeowner might decide to do the work himself and not meet the new requirements.

Obama Offshore drilling rule proves Environmentalists still calling shots.

Published by Arnie under Dependency, Obama, Energy, Economy

OK, so Obama opened up a few areas off Virginia for drilling.  So what?  Does that mean that Obama is now in favor of America getting a grip on its energy independence?  Don’t think so.  He’s just throwing out a carrot.  If the republican leadership, or any republican consent that this is a good sign, then those guys too should be sent back home to another occupation in November.

The top House Republican says the White House’s decision to begin offshore drilling across huge expanses of ocean is a “positive step,” but he’s still blasting the Obama administration for keeping areas on the West Coast closed to such exploration.

House Minority Leader John Boehner, an Ohio Republican, said that the administration “continues to defy the will of the American people,” who he says supported a 2008 congressional decision to allow oil exploration off the Pacific Coast and Alaska.

Read more:

Drill baby drill.  Alaska, Gulf of Mexico, the California coast and the Dakotas too will be needed to change our dependence on foreign oil and natural gas to an independent basis.  Gee, these drilling companies would do it too, without government subsidies that the fledging solar and wind industries need.

It simply befuddles me why politicians are against their own country pursuing energy independence.  A few environmental organizations are still in control of our energy needs.

Is Clean Energy legislation necessary?

As congress and the green movement moves ahead pursuing clean energy legislation, there’s a simple question that must be asked.

If windmills and solar panels are so great as electricity generators for consumption by individuals, then why does the federal government have to subsidize the industry?

Wouldn’t the power companies invest millions installing the windmills to replace the conventional means of generating electricity?  Once installed, the wind is costless.  Simple maintenance of the turbines seems economically feasible.   Wouldn’t the private industrial complex invest their capital in the wind mill market, and also make millions converting homes to solar heat when solar panels are of more benefit than traditional sources of electricity?

Not that many years ago, the computer made it’s debut on the market.   A couple of college guys saw the “need” and started developing computer software enabling the first born computers to do amazing things, and Microsoft and Apple became billion dollar companies.  Where was the government then?  The government already had computers that took up an entire climate controlled room, but Gates made the computer consumer friendly.   An industry was born and now that government computer fits in your hand.

Did the federal government subsidize the telephone industry to transition from the wired telephone to wireless phones?

Then, why does the federal government think that now is the time to subsidize an entire industry that has not yet proved itself useful to the average consumer?

See Wind Energy’s Ghosts for more.
There’s one solid fact about consumer behavior.  People will purchase products that will be of the most benefit to themselves, and will discard products that do not live up to that standard.

There’s one solid fact about government intentions.  They are more often wrong than right.

The Y2K decade in Review

What a decade this has been.   But then every decade in the recorded history of mankind has been quite remarkable in it’s own right taken in the context of that particular decade.    The 2000’s started with scare mongering of the masses and the first decade of the 2’s is ending with a hysterical scare mongering of the masses.   On the stroke of midnight 12/31/1999, the computerized world was supposed to go haywire, but airplanes still flew, banks did not have their records scrambled, power companies were cheerful and people did not have to revert to candlepower.   Wall street was still wall street while the government shut down their computers anticipating their own scaremongering.

On this forthcoming stroke of midnight 12/31/2009 the scientific consensus says the world stage could soon go haywire as the ice caps melt sending huge waves of water descending upon Manhattan and the itty bitty Islands of Tuvalu.   That event will never happen either.  It’s more likely that an Islamic person being watched by the Department of Homeland Security could succeed in his wish to gain 72 virgins as he desires to take down 300 innocents.

A Military base and a university campus have recently been openly fired upon.   We the people ask “What’s next?”

But that’s yet to come as Janet Napolitano said the terrorist prevention system over Detroit worked beautifully before she said the system failed.

This we do know about the past ten years.    America Changed.   The country is not the same politically, domestically, economically, religiously and definitely not the same defensively and constitutionally.   For the first time ever, an elected official Muslim would not take the oath of office on the Bible.  Yes, America is not the same, but yet it is, as oaths are rarely honored anyway.

The very beginning of the decade found damaged Bill Clinton speaking around the world while Al Gore went on to produce a mystery novel disguised as a documentary.   The beginning of the decade also saw the USS Cole get attacked, but “red flags” were looked over so that on 9/11/2001, 4 high jacked planes woke the world up to Islamic terrorism as nearly 3000 Americans lost their lives.   President Bush declared a war against terror spending billions in taxes to fell Saddam Hussein to the ground.  Congressman Murtha accused our troops of purposely killing Iraqi civilians.  The liberal pols and media declared it a “war for oil” as Iraq was liberated, but the FBI and CIA were both at a loss finding the head terrorist moving from cave to cave.

Except for Katrina hitting New Orleans head on and a tsunami devastating Indonesia, outlandish climate changes were kind of quiet.   Honoring their code, “if it bleeds, it leads,” the media exaggerated the water depth depicting the welfare dependents screaming for help.

Terror struck the campus of no guns allowed Virginia Tech.

American Idol captured the masses dreams for stardom and dancing with stars played on and on.  Entertainment is more popular with the masses than keeping up with the political scene because there’s actually a chance that it could pay off to be a hard working focused citizen.

Facebook, MySpace, text messaging while driving burned up computer space and swept teens away from textbooks.

Nancy Pelosi makes history and continues to rewrite history with co-conspirator Harry Reid handing out favors for favors.

Fannie Mae gets caught but the inventors of the program get away.

Oddly enough a rock concert speech in Berlin to Idol worshippers propels an unknown half American and half African man over the top to win his chance to re-organize America with changes.   He starts his term by the appointments of the “C” word and “S” word “czars” to do the dirty work.

The Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe YouTube amateur videos exposed ACORN, a favorite for politicians.

Changes are made to the economic system, the too big to let fail automobile industry is now part of the federal government, as the banking giants, insurance conglomerates have their incentive bonuses cut.   The housing industry goes quiet.    Bridges to nowhere are discarded in favor of creatively stimulating “saved jobs” repairing torn up old bridges and roads to somewhere.   The thousands of new signs along the highways announcing the work cost us billions.

The unions get boosted by a clunker program that needed re-inventing before being invented.  It stimulated the car crushing companies for the few weeks of the program, then it was back to business slower than usual.

A hockey mom named Sarah captures the imagination of middle America; “she’s speaking what I’ve been thinking all along,” as the silent majority organized tea parties all across the country.

US Airways pilot Chesley Sullenberger creates a miracle in the Hudson River.

The Chicago Cubs continue to wonder when. . . a change will come killing the goat.

A Tiger is brought to his knees agonizing over his misses.

Joe the plumber got an honest answer of Obama’s desire to redistribute the wealth, and Joe Wilson had an honest spontaneous “you Lie” moment.

It’s been a decade of politically correct diversity as the elite moralize over “war on terror” and “overseas contingency operation,” because they don’t want to offend anyone, while people of interest without baggage on a one way flight smelling like sulfur board flights while the average citizen traveler gets the full body treatment.

The financial crisis raises the debt for the citizen masses for years and years to come, and Fannie Mae continues to write mortgages that won’t be paid.   We’ll have to wait till next year for the Health Care option and school children are told there’s no use in working hard if capping trade of everything under the sun does not pass.   The new EPA solutions guarantees absolutely clean air forever and ever.

The decade ends just as the decade started with the masses being hysterically scare mongered.

Over the past ten years we learned how to be politically diverse and correct non-offensively.  Over the past ten years the various governments regulated intrusions into our freedoms by the force of law.    Over the past decade the self reliance of the citizen masses was weakened creating masses of welfare recipients.   Over the past ten years people learned to look to the federal government for help rather than looking within themselves.

There’s one bright spot for the next decade.   The Christian silent majority may not remain silent anymore.

The Joke is on energy efficiency

Published by Arnie under Global Warming, Energy, Environmental

“Many communities have switched to LED bulbs in their traffic lights because they use 90 percent less energy than the old incandescent variety, last far longer and save money. Their great advantage is also their drawback: They do not waste energy by producing heat.”  Energy-efficient traffic lights can’t melt snow

Now what happens when those traffic lights that do not produce heat get covered up with snow?   “The bulbs don’t burn hot enough to melt snow and can become crusted over in a storm —

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha HA ha …. ha ha HA HA.  What a joke.

No, it’s not funny that people have accidents, get hurt and damage their vehicle because they can’t see the lights.   And that’s exactly what happened.   When the snow covered the lights, people could not determine green or red, go or stop, which caused many accidents and even one death was attributed to the stupid energy efficient light good idea.

Another sign of the craziness of the entire environmental slippery road the world is sliding on.   Whatever “has to be done now before it’s too late.”

EPA is ready to RULE over the climate (we the people)

No doubt you’ve heard of the EPA stating that Carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas is an endangerment to the health of humans, can and will regulate those emissions.  Lisa Jackson said so.   So that’s it.   Over and out.  She’s hoping that congress will pass the needed bills, but don’t be fooled, the EPA is ready, willing, able and entrusted by Obama to do what is necessary to get those harmful greenhouse gases under control, even if congress fails to pass that 2000 page cap and trade bill.   The house has already passed it.  The senate is having a time making things stick to the agenda.

Administration Warns of ‘Command-and-Control’ Regulation Over Emissions

The Obama administration is warning Congress that if it doesn’t move to regulate greenhouse gases, the Environmental Protection Agency will take a "command-and-control" role over the process in a way that could hurt business.

“could”?   There is no could about it.  It WOULD hurt every business out here from the small strip center hair dresser, the Laundromat, the mom and pop retail store to the local plumber to every giant corporation in America.  The new and profound regulations upon them will drive up prices.  Higher energy prices.  More restrictions.

No doubt about that.

And who pays those bills?   Who is it that keeps those businesses operating?   Who is it that stops doing business when the prices get out of reach for just us the average folks?   We do.  So, we’d expect many thousands (millions) of those places to shut down.  Our Food and necessities come first, then down the line somewhere are the hair cuts, the laundry would be done at home, we’d fix our own leaks, and on and on it goes affecting EVERY business in America.  Even the grocery stores would take a hit as the side items take a hit as we adjust our buying habits and learn to stick to the basics.   Got to eat, but we don’t have to eat rib-eyed steaks.

Oh, did I mention meat.   Yes I did.   Hmm.   How many times have you heard about the emissions of cows being a driving force behind those greenhouse gases?   Farmers would be taxed based on the number of cows they are raising for the butcher.  So, this fits right into their agenda as we cut down on our consumption of meat.   They say Yes, that’s just what is needed to control the effect of cow farts.   Reduce the size of the herds.   Farmers change over to produce switch grass etc, and the price of a Big Mac makes it a once a year holiday treat.   Hold the fries.

Every bit of these “changes” are being done with the approval of Obama, the executive branch, to satisfy his leftist socialist tyrannical friends and his own vision of America.   America will be better when the government control is bigger, as the private sector is “evil” and cannot be trusted.

Sad days.   Kiss the daylights out of the America that was, as it will be darker living.

Hypocrites to Copenhagen . . . Get me My Limo!

If they would just live as they inform the rest of us should live, then . . . well . . .  we still would not believe those stories of inconvenient scientific consensus, but they would have less of an impact on how we think of them.  THE Copenhagen UN Summit on Climate Change starts on the 7th and runs through the 17th.   Everybody who’s anybody will be there including Leonardo DiCaprio, Daryl Hannah, Helena Christensen, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Prince Charles of the UK.   E-Mails?   What e-Mails?   Anyway. the show must go on and the celebrities will be there to make it great entertainment for all.

On a normal day, Majken Friss Jorgensen, managing director of Copenhagen’s biggest limousine company, says her firm has twelve vehicles on the road. During the "summit to save the world", which opens here tomorrow, she will have 200.

. . .

Ms Jorgensen reckons that between her and her rivals the total number of limos in Copenhagen next week has already broken the 1,200 barrier. The French alone rang up on Thursday and ordered another 42. "We haven’t got enough limos in the country to fulfil the demand," she says. "We’re having to drive them in hundreds of miles from Germany and Sweden."

And the total number of electric cars or hybrids among that number? "Five," says Ms Jorgensen.   Read on . . .

Arrogant.   Deceitful.   Mobsters.   All of them just woozy in love with America . . . . our cash to fuel up those limos, private jets to wine and dine with lobster and caviar.    Toss in a Danish babe here and there and a real convention gets under way.   These are the one worlders who wish to control the masses (mostly the western Christian types),  the radical right wingers, the deniers, the flat earthers, the illiterate, the unwashed, and especially those who still hold to the idea of killing animals as sport, those who fish the lakes and streams, those who make special trips to get a bear, an elk or a dear harmless deer.

That’s us folks.   The silent majority.
