The Y2K decade in Review

What a decade this has been.   But then every decade in the recorded history of mankind has been quite remarkable in it’s own right taken in the context of that particular decade.    The 2000’s started with scare mongering of the masses and the first decade of the 2’s is ending with a hysterical scare mongering of the masses.   On the stroke of midnight 12/31/1999, the computerized world was supposed to go haywire, but airplanes still flew, banks did not have their records scrambled, power companies were cheerful and people did not have to revert to candlepower.   Wall street was still wall street while the government shut down their computers anticipating their own scaremongering.

On this forthcoming stroke of midnight 12/31/2009 the scientific consensus says the world stage could soon go haywire as the ice caps melt sending huge waves of water descending upon Manhattan and the itty bitty Islands of Tuvalu.   That event will never happen either.  It’s more likely that an Islamic person being watched by the Department of Homeland Security could succeed in his wish to gain 72 virgins as he desires to take down 300 innocents.

A Military base and a university campus have recently been openly fired upon.   We the people ask “What’s next?”

But that’s yet to come as Janet Napolitano said the terrorist prevention system over Detroit worked beautifully before she said the system failed.

This we do know about the past ten years.    America Changed.   The country is not the same politically, domestically, economically, religiously and definitely not the same defensively and constitutionally.   For the first time ever, an elected official Muslim would not take the oath of office on the Bible.  Yes, America is not the same, but yet it is, as oaths are rarely honored anyway.

The very beginning of the decade found damaged Bill Clinton speaking around the world while Al Gore went on to produce a mystery novel disguised as a documentary.   The beginning of the decade also saw the USS Cole get attacked, but “red flags” were looked over so that on 9/11/2001, 4 high jacked planes woke the world up to Islamic terrorism as nearly 3000 Americans lost their lives.   President Bush declared a war against terror spending billions in taxes to fell Saddam Hussein to the ground.  Congressman Murtha accused our troops of purposely killing Iraqi civilians.  The liberal pols and media declared it a “war for oil” as Iraq was liberated, but the FBI and CIA were both at a loss finding the head terrorist moving from cave to cave.

Except for Katrina hitting New Orleans head on and a tsunami devastating Indonesia, outlandish climate changes were kind of quiet.   Honoring their code, “if it bleeds, it leads,” the media exaggerated the water depth depicting the welfare dependents screaming for help.

Terror struck the campus of no guns allowed Virginia Tech.

American Idol captured the masses dreams for stardom and dancing with stars played on and on.  Entertainment is more popular with the masses than keeping up with the political scene because there’s actually a chance that it could pay off to be a hard working focused citizen.

Facebook, MySpace, text messaging while driving burned up computer space and swept teens away from textbooks.

Nancy Pelosi makes history and continues to rewrite history with co-conspirator Harry Reid handing out favors for favors.

Fannie Mae gets caught but the inventors of the program get away.

Oddly enough a rock concert speech in Berlin to Idol worshippers propels an unknown half American and half African man over the top to win his chance to re-organize America with changes.   He starts his term by the appointments of the “C” word and “S” word “czars” to do the dirty work.

The Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe YouTube amateur videos exposed ACORN, a favorite for politicians.

Changes are made to the economic system, the too big to let fail automobile industry is now part of the federal government, as the banking giants, insurance conglomerates have their incentive bonuses cut.   The housing industry goes quiet.    Bridges to nowhere are discarded in favor of creatively stimulating “saved jobs” repairing torn up old bridges and roads to somewhere.   The thousands of new signs along the highways announcing the work cost us billions.

The unions get boosted by a clunker program that needed re-inventing before being invented.  It stimulated the car crushing companies for the few weeks of the program, then it was back to business slower than usual.

A hockey mom named Sarah captures the imagination of middle America; “she’s speaking what I’ve been thinking all along,” as the silent majority organized tea parties all across the country.

US Airways pilot Chesley Sullenberger creates a miracle in the Hudson River.

The Chicago Cubs continue to wonder when. . . a change will come killing the goat.

A Tiger is brought to his knees agonizing over his misses.

Joe the plumber got an honest answer of Obama’s desire to redistribute the wealth, and Joe Wilson had an honest spontaneous “you Lie” moment.

It’s been a decade of politically correct diversity as the elite moralize over “war on terror” and “overseas contingency operation,” because they don’t want to offend anyone, while people of interest without baggage on a one way flight smelling like sulfur board flights while the average citizen traveler gets the full body treatment.

The financial crisis raises the debt for the citizen masses for years and years to come, and Fannie Mae continues to write mortgages that won’t be paid.   We’ll have to wait till next year for the Health Care option and school children are told there’s no use in working hard if capping trade of everything under the sun does not pass.   The new EPA solutions guarantees absolutely clean air forever and ever.

The decade ends just as the decade started with the masses being hysterically scare mongered.

Over the past ten years we learned how to be politically diverse and correct non-offensively.  Over the past ten years the various governments regulated intrusions into our freedoms by the force of law.    Over the past decade the self reliance of the citizen masses was weakened creating masses of welfare recipients.   Over the past ten years people learned to look to the federal government for help rather than looking within themselves.

There’s one bright spot for the next decade.   The Christian silent majority may not remain silent anymore.

A certainty for 2010.

What are the predictions for the new year?   What do the experts say?  Everyone wants to know what the experts are saying or expecting, right.

Well, I’m telling you right up front here that I’m not an expert at anything, but there is one thing I am certain about. And there’s another thing not far behind that I’m certain about: The federal government will not cut spending.

U.S. faces fiscal crisis with $12 trillion debt.

The experts say that taxes must go up.  The experts also say that spending must go down to get the debt under control.   That’s the question that’s bugging the daylights out of us non experts.  When will congress quit spending money like a drunken sailor?

You will see an increase in taxes in 2010.   It’s a sure thing.  The experts are saying that taxes must increase because the US is facing a debt figure that is out of sight, or unsustainable.   $12,104,939,360,771 in U.S. funds, or to make that incomprehensive figure understandable try this: it is equal to every American, all 307 million of us, responsible for over $39,000 of that debt figure.

Every man, woman and child in the US.

Next time you go grocery shopping ask someone in the check-out line if they have $40,000 to spare.   Uncle Sam needs it.   Could they spare $500 this week?

Ah, it don’t look like congress is ready to bite the bullet quite yet, as they just voted to send GMAC a fresh bail-out in the amount of $3.8 billion.  Hey, what’s the big deal complaining about a measly $3.8 billion?   It’s only $12.46 for each of us.   We could pay that off in just  days with another tax on gasoline, utilities or beer.   Just ask that person in the check-out line to voluntarily add $12.46 to his/her bill to be targeted for GMAC.  I could write a check today, but no, I think I’ll just go get some tacos.

Happy New Year!

Obama says intelligence had knowledge

HONOLULU (AP) - President Barack Obama said Tuesday that the intelligence community had bits of information that should have been pieced together that would have triggered "red flags" and possibly prevented the Christmas Day attempted terror attack on a Detroit-bound airliner.

"There was a mix of human and systemic failures that contributed to this potential catastrophic breach of security," Obama said.

So what else is new around Washington?   That’s the way government works, by default waiting till the inevitable happens.   But rarely does anyone lose their jobs.   Rarely does the blame stop somewhere.

Take the Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac fiasco as one example.   The feds create a program to help the “less fortunate” buy homes by requiring the banks to loan money on a very risky basis to people who most likely will not be able to keep up with the payment schedule.   After some years, the feds become aware of the way the program is hurting the banks and the people purchasing beyond their means, but the politicians do nothing to change the program.   Then the bubble breaks and a financial crisis breaks out.

This is where it really gets interesting.

The politicians, realizing the heat is on, re-write the original program.

The heat is on Obama and the intelligence agencies.   What will we get?    The people will get more of the same intelligence as the agencies budget gets increased as additional people are added looking at the same information.

Released Gitmo prisoners responsible for NWA bomb plot.

Who could have guessed it?   Two of the Islamic radical terrorist Al Qaeda operatives claiming responsibility for the attempted destruction of the Northwest Airlines Flight #253 into Detroit were released from our prisoner of war camp at Guantanamo in 2007.

I would guess that enrolling in a rehabilitation program was the condition for their release; that they be enrolled in a program called "art therapy rehabilitation program."   Art Classes.  Looking at the beauty of the world.  Understanding color.  Forms.  Shapes.  Shadows. Relationships.  Getting in touch with their feelings.

These were guys that were released during Bush’s regime.   Obama is finishing the job of sending prisoners of war back into the world.

Today Obama called this goon who tried to blow up that flight “an isolated extremist.”

Yea, like he was acting on his own without help, without encouragement, without training, without support.

Sure thing Mr.. President.

American citizens civilians are paying the hefty lost freedom price to keep from offending any Muslim in any part of the world _ _ _ _ as profiling would be wrong.  No, TSA couldn’t pull men who appear to be of Eastern Vintage out of the check-in line at airports and scan them with the body scans.   No, TSA couldn’t pull men with funny Arabic names out of the line to scan.   No, TSA couldn’t pull suspicious men out of the line to completely check before boarding a flight.   No.  No.   No.  They would be offended.   CAIR would sue.

And so, the check-in proceedings get longer and longer as everyone, including old white grandmothers get the full body scans and full luggage treatment, shoe removal etc etc etc. as you show up for a flight 3 hours early.

We ought to feel good about these new rules protecting us.    Dam it now, we’re it doing it for your benefit.   Shut up, sit down and wait your turn.

Terrorist on Detroit flight.

About that flight from Nigeria when a Nigerian passenger attempted to blow up the plane over Detroit,  Janet Napolitano says “that the system worked as it should have.”

Yea, right.

Dept of HS did nothing.

Janet did nothing.

Except for a private citizen acting on his own and getting in the face of a suspicious activity, the terrorist attempt may have worked.

The Ft. Hood terrorist was a “person of interest” who remained just interesting, not quite interesting enough to get in their face.

And now another suspicious activity on the same flight path 3 days later and the crew of the plane took care of this Nigerian “person of interest.”

Ah, the actions of our federal government gives you warm fuzzy feelings of security.    Does anyone up there understand that the war against the Western Judeo-Christian society is still being played out by irate radical Muslims?

Unwrapping democrats

Everyday I get more and more excited about the 2010 elections.   About how the conservatives are going to romp all over the incumbents, especially any of them with a (D) affiliation.   This will be fun to read about.   This will be something to behold.   And the weird thing about it is that the movement to have all of the power elites replaced did not come from on high, but from a real grass roots spontaneous movement in every state, in the small towns, the rural areas. the suburbs of the metropolitan areas, and yes the inner cities too.

The health care reform package is sealing the deal.    America does not want it.   The people do not want it.   The only ones who want the thing are the Ben Nelsons, the Nancy Pelosi’s, the Harry Reid’s the Obama’s and the bureaucrats who see themselves running the show.

Ben Nelson said he was for it before he was temporarily against it.    A two year old threw a fit and mama gave in.

Nevada is wanting to know where the gifts are?

Nebraska cleaned up, as did Florida and Connecticut.   We’d expect Louisiana to get a special lift to assuage the guilt for Katrina.  How about the other 45?   Schumer of NY said that every state did get something, but we’d have to take his word on that or else read and try to digest the 2048 page bill and all of it’s references to previous legislation actions, confusion thrown in (A)(i)(subtitle B)(section Q) for the legal fun of it all.

Less than a year to go to unwrap those democrats.  RINO’s too.  All Incumbents?   Yea, why not?    What do we got to lose?

Why do we want a bigger government?

This past summer I visited a small town in Minnesota that could be called America’s best kept secret.   It has a police force, a volunteer fire department, a school system, a gas station that handles the really necessary grocery items, a restaurant/bar of course, and a couple of locally owned shops that a collector would love to browse through.   The homes are beautifully kept.   The streets are neat.   This is real small town living, a 20 minute drive to a town of 5,500 people.    The people are as friendly as can be.   The children can ride their bikes anywhere while mothers are content and free of anxiety as their kids roam about town.   The residents like it just the way it is.   The mayors job is part time while he works with the farmers that surround this town supplying them with drainage systems as his full time job.  As the mayor he has  made time to meet with the representatives at the State Capital about small town needs and wishes.

This is the other America you don’t hear about on the news.

Once a month the town gathers in the center of town, just 3 blocks away from farmland.   The restaurant sets up tables on main street.   The Mayor and his wife serve popcorn, hold a raffle, and drive an old farm tractor with trailer for rides around the town without the hay.   The mayor fabricated this trailer for this purpose.    Residents came and displayed their antique cars along the street, and several motorcycle enthusiasts parked their cycles in rows as they enjoyed the fine food and chit chat with neighbors.  The Mayor’s wife created signs she posted on the main drag claiming “Slow Down: Saturday night in small town USA”

America is not just the big cities, the New York’s, Los Angeles and Detroit’s.  It’s also small town USA.  Real small towns.   There are thousands of these small towns in every state doing just fine, while laws are mostly written to govern the big cities.

These small towns have a government too.  They collect taxes, run the schools, arrest those that misbehave, and put out fires.  They clean the streets, mow the parks and ball fields, and see to the drainage system and water supplies.  These small towns govern their own affairs rather nicely.  Yet, everyday of the year, these small towns have to abide by the rules and regulations that the next larger entity write into laws, the county governments, then the State governments and finally the super duper conglomerate called the federal government, all of them mandating these small towns to comply.   And then the endless inspectors come to check and see.

With each step up the ladder the laws get more and more invasive and life in these small towns becomes more complicated and still forgotten when it’s time to write more laws to govern the bigger places.   More and more Americans want the small town lifestyle in the big cities.

Why does anyone one desire for the States, and specifically the Federal government to grow so huge that it must go trillions in debt to run itself?

Currently $12.1 trillion or $39,300 for each of us.   Mandated by laws written by Congresses and signed by Presidents.

Climate Change: the twerps come home to snow.

The meeting of the great minds of the world at Copenhagen is over and what can they show as having any affect on the changing climate?   1200 Limos and hundreds of private jets showed the world their sincerity.   They claim that carbon dioxide is ruining the planets atmosphere.  Not even googols of men could ruin this atmosphere.  What arrogance.

Nada.   Nothing.  Absolutely nothing that man does can change the way climate changes of it’s own accord.  It’s natural.  It’s governed by creation, by the natural laws of the Universe, by the still mysterious winds that no man will ever be able to alter, by the Sun and it’s spots, by our circling path in the Universe and that rotational spin, by God himself.

Arrogance says man can change all of that just by these wonder boys limiting what people are allowed to do.

I find it a bit ironic that a snow storm hit Copenhagen during the conference, whereas over the history of the climate changes in and around Copenhagen, this was quite unusual.   As if God was speaking to those arrogant minds:  “You fools, you little pipsqueak twerps, you can not alter the way my laws work.”   “Your scheme is being exposed for what it is: folly.”   “Your deceit upon all of mankind is being exposed.”   “Your desire to harm the freedoms I myself have imparted upon mankind are being exposed.”  “You try to enslave my people by your lies.”  “Several other Rulers in your history books have tried similar fraudulent schemes upon my people and read again what happened to them.”

And now, as the so brilliant twerps from America quickly return home to Washington, they are greeted with a snow storm that is bringing the city to a halt.

Global Warming.  Ha.

Change the name of the scheme from Global Warming to Climate Change and it still remains a scam to defraud the people who have of their own accord done the most to help humanity the world over.

You arrogant fools.

What did Nelson get to switch sides?

Everybody has a price.   Principles mean little when the price is right.  Previous statements mean little when the price is right.

Ah yes, talk about an outrage, and I must, yes I must post this post about the bribe the rest of the democrats crafted to get Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska to pledge his vote for the health care proposal now alive in the Senate.

Below is the text for Nelson’s bribe. Under this language the federal government will forever cover the costs of Medicaid expansion in Nebraska. Taxpayers in every other state will forever be responsible for the expanded Medicaid program in Nebraska.

Click here to read the text of the bill.

Did you get that?  The rest of the country will be paying for the extended coverage for the people of Nebraska.  Nebraska only.   Will this get him votes back home?   Oh sure, the media in the state will eat it up and when election comes, Ben Nelson will be a hero for taking care of his own people.

But that’s not all.

Outrageous doesn’t do justice to describe this situation. Sen. Nelson also secured an exemption from a new insurance tax for non-profit companies in his state. Mutual of Omaha and Nebraska’s Blue Cross/Blue Shield won’t have to pay a tax other companies will be required to pay.

A precedent?   Next in line to do the same kind of holding out . . . until . . . extraordinary favors are granted to State of _________ because of the hold out of Senator/Representative ___________ (fill in the blanks).

12/21 Update.  Add Senator Dodd to the list of bribe takers as his state gets $100 million to build a hospital.

Your wonderful US congress at work.   A congress which needs to be replaced each and every 6 years.

Climate conference is a done deal.

As the chairman of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) banged his gavel down on the podium claiming to “take note” of the Climate accord of Copenhagen 2009 making it a done deal.   There’s no political agreement in writing.   There’s none of the 2000 page resolutions that our congress is good at manipulating into laws.

It’s was declared a done deal when the gavel came down.   It was a done deal when the chairman declared to “take note.”   Take note means that “it gives (the accord) enough legal status to become operational but without needing the parties’ approval."

Only a lawyer could invent that definition.   The rest of us lowly earthlings would think it means it’s not a done deal, it’s just a note to remind everyone that the parties did not agree but were working toward an agreement that was not yet fully agreed upon as time ran out.

Obama is making it almost sound as if it is a done deal, stating that a "meaningful and unprecedented breakthrough" had been reached among the U.S., China and three other countries on a global effort to curb climate change but said much work was still be needed to reach a legally binding treaty.

So, it’s not a done deal as he said they were missing the final legally binding treaty.   Then the “take note” declaration means nothing either.   Then as the gavel hit the podium it meant the conference is over, shut up and go home, we’re finished here.  See you all next year.

Now the question arises, how will our congressmen respond to the almost done deal in Copenhagen.  How will the media treat the gavel thing?   How many lawyers does it take to move congress to pass our cap and trade legislation because of the “take note” declaration?

It’s sad, that a scam is propelling the entire world of politicians to act to reinforce the scam: a fraudulent scheme.  To swindle.   To cheat.   To deceive.

Did you read about the influence of that tiny little island community (Tuvalu) of 9000 residents in the South Pacific had on the conference?   The catastrophic hysteria has really hit those people.  The Gore inconvenient hysteria has scarred them to death that the ocean is going to rise so fast they will not be able to get off the islands quick enough, and if the rich evil western nations do no come to their aid, it’s all over for their paradise.   "Can I suggest that in biblical terms, it looks like we’re being offered 30 pieces of silver to sell our future," Tuvalu’s lead negotiator Ian Fry said during the main meeting. "Our future is not for sale."

Tax and cap, or cap the trade charade will be done here in the US and the environment will continue to make fools out of them all.

Who loses?  The average Joe.   You and me, our kids, their kids and on down the line.

Who wins?   The special interest groups.  The Gore.  The UN.
